The Most Healthy Fruit?

Fruit is a basic for our diet plan. There are healthiest, healthy, and not so healthy fruit. Let's add your knowledge by reading this article.

People who eat fruits and vegetables as part of a balanced eating plan are less likely to develop conditions such as stroke, coronary heart disease, high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes, bone loss, and cancers of the mouth, stomach, and colon. In addition, these highly nutritious foods may reduce the risk of developing kidney stones.

A good rule of thumb is to choose the darkest-colored fruit in the bunch. The darker, the more phytochemicals. This does not mean to always choose red apples over yellow pears because red is a darker color than yellow. It simply means to choose the reddest apple in the bunch of apples, the darkest plum in the group of plums, and the darkest strawberries of all the strawberries.

Many people wonder whether or not juice is as good for you as eating the food from which the juice was extracted. The simple answer is no. Whole foods of any kind provides more nutrients than juice, such as fiber and its ability to fill you up and keep your hunger levels in control. Fruit juice usually has some added sugar as well, which packs in unwanted calories to your daily intake. Beware of beverages labeled “fruit juice” that are mostly sugar. These drinks will have about 10% or less real juice in them. The rest is sugar. Some examples of these are lemonade, orange drink, and fruit punch.

All of these fruits provide good nutrition, yet each have their own benefits. From a health perspective, it's best to have a diverse diet that includes multiple types of fruits and vegetables. If I had to say "healthiest" i would say Apples. "A apple a day keeps the doctor away" has an increasing number of supportive scientific evidences for its claim. It has been found that eating apples helps to reduce blood cholesterol, improve bowel function, reduce risk of stroke, prostate cancer, Type II diabetes and asthma. This is due to the fiber and phytonutrients present in the apples. Several recent studies have shown that eating apples are linked to reducing cancer risk.

Regardless of what fruit you eat, I encourage you to seek out organic varieties when feasible. Grapes, Apples and Pears are especially bad when it comes to pesticides. At a minimum, use a vegetable wash product to remove the pesticide residue if you don't buy organic.

Maria Ozawa aka Miyabi

Ikut-ikutan nulis ah ttg Miyabi biar traffic nya naik. Hehe..

Healthy Heart

In my study, I have learned there are three most important organs of our body, brain, heart, and lungs. Each organ has an important work in our body, and every organ connects each other. If you know the definition of "death" then you know what I mean.

Heart is a small organ which has big role play in our body. Its job is to make sure that all of our body's part get enough blood, nutrients, etc. So, we must keep our heart healthy. The question is "how?". My answers are by doing exercise, eat well, and live well.

Here are some guidelines which if followed can help manage a healthier heart:

1. You daily diet plan should only have 10-12% of the total consumed calories from the saturated fats.

2. Your total calories of the day, must not be more than 28% from the fat.

3. Try to restrict the daily in take of sodium below 2500 milligrams a day.

4. Mark your calorie level (your doctor will help you know the exact appropriate level) and just take enough calories that would help you to maintain a healthy weight and would help to reduce the cholesterol level in your blood.

4. You must not take more than 300 milligrams of cholesterol daily, as it would lead to a build up of plaques in your arteries which surely increases the risk of a stroke and a heart attack.

6. Try to avoid butter and margarine as much as you can. For this purpose you can use salsa or even low-fat yogurt to top your baked potatoes instead of butter.

7. Make the nut or seed oil a part of your diet, as it would help you to have a healthier heart. It can even be canola oil or olive oil.

8. Try to avoid the addition of fried chicken patties in your diet plan and add fish or a piece of skinless chicken breast. Fish also helps to lower your blood fats.

9. Add beans and peas to your daily diet plans as they are a rich source of protein and they are free of cholesterol and low at fat.

10. Try to add fruits and vegetables to your diet as much as you can.

11. Reduce the salt in your overall meals.

If you keep all these points in view while designing your diet plan you will surely have the most appropriate diet plan for your healthier heart.
