Yeah right, don't quit smoking if you don't want to make the cigarettes company broke. Don't quit smoking if you don't want to see more jobless people on streets.
The truth if as you and I already know it : SMOKING IS BAD!
You can eat five portions of fruit and veg a day and exercise regularly, but healthy behaviour means little if you continue to smoke.
The message that 'smoking is bad for you' is an old one, so not everyone gives it their full attention.
Everyone knows that smoking can cause cancer when you get older, but did you know that it also has bad effects on your body right now? A cigarette contains about 4000 chemicals, many of which are poisonous. Some of the worst ones are:
* Nicotine: a deadly poison
* Arsenic: used in rat poison
* Methane: a component of rocket fuel
* Ammonia: found in floor cleaner
* Cadmium: used in batteries
* Carbon Monoxide: part of car exhaust
* Formaldehyde: used to preserve body tissue
* Butane: lighter fluid
* Hydrogen Cyanide: the poison used in gas chambers

The Importance of Calcium
Calcium is one of the important minerals that our body needed. Our body needed vitamins and minerals. The quantity is not so high, but still our body needs those things.
Calcium, the most abundant mineral in the body, is found in some foods, added to others, available as a dietary supplement, and present in some medicines (such as antacids). Calcium is required for muscle contraction, blood vessel expansion and contraction, secretion of hormones and enzymes, and transmitting impulses throughout the nervous system. The body strives to maintain constant concentrations of calcium in blood, muscle, and intercellular fluids, though less than <1% of total body calcium is needed to support these functions.
Calcium is essential to the formation and maintenance of strong bones and teeth. In the human adult the bone calcium is chiefly in the form of the phosphate and carbonate salts. A sufficient store of vitamin D in the body is necessary for the proper utilization of calcium. Calcium also functions in the regulation of the heartbeat and in the conversion of prothrombin to thrombin, a necessary step in the clotting of blood.
It is important to get plenty of calcium in the foods you eat. Foods rich in calcium include diary products such as milk, cheese and yogurt, and leafy, green vegetables. The exact amount of calcium you need depends on your age and other factors. Growing children and teenagers need more calcium than young adults. Older women need plenty of calcium to prevent osteoporosis. People who do not eat enough high-calcium foods should take a calcium supplement.

Fun With Pregnancy
I found an anonymous-made poem in some site about pregnancy. Just hear it :
You're risky if you're big
You're risky if you're small
You're risky if you have 5 kids
Or if you've none at all
You're risky if you're young
You're risky if you're old
You're risky if the weather's hot
And also if it's cold
It's risky with a midwife
It's risky on your own
But with half a dozen strangers
You'll have no need to moan
Great huh?!

You're risky if you have 5 kids

You're risky if you're young

Obstetric and Gynecologic Exams

Tomorrow I will have my examination. The examinations contain of the patient's history taking, physical examination, the patient's medical status, and the theory. My problem in the obstetric examination is using the Laennec for hearing the baby's heart sound. It is a lot easier to hear it with Doppler. This morning I wait a lit bit to take my time to study before going to the hospital.

Happy Birthday to Me!
Protect Our Skin

Skin is the largest organ in human's body. All parts of our body are covered with skin. Skin is the outer layer of the body, so it will protect our body from any hazards. The skin is made up of 3 layers - the epidermis, dermis, and subcutaneous tissue.
As a person ages the epidermal cells become thinner and less sticky. The thinner cells make the skin look noticeably thinner. Because of that, the moisture will be released instead of being kept in the skin. This causes dryness.
Many factors will effect our skin. Our skin will has wrinkles. Wrinkles could happen because of the sun light, aging, hormone, and many else. Some people use wrinkle creams to manage this situation.
Many wrinkle creams and lotions sold in department stores and drugstores. People are looking for the best wrinkle cream for their skin. Research suggests that some wrinkle creams contain ingredients that may improve wrinkles. But many of these ingredients haven't undergone scientific research to prove this benefit. In my opinion, you can use the anti wrinkle serum for your wrinkles. Although some products haven't met the criteria, the are others which have pass the criteria.
