Black Tea for Weight Loss



Black tea made from Camellia sinensis has making headway. It soars because of its well-known advantages in the individual's overall health. It does not only help the person get rid of her excess weight but it also takes care of the heart, lungs, kidneys, and other major organs of the body. This is because it prevents the person from having cardiovascular diseases. It also lowers blood sugar and the LDL cholesterol levels of the consumer. The tea has also antibacterial properties that protect you from having tooth decay.

A study by Drs. Rumpler, Seale, Clevidence, Yamamoto and Komatsu of the U.S.D.A. Beltsville Humer Nutrition Center proved that there is a link between drinking tea and weight loss. Persistent consumption of tea is required, they reported, to obtain any beneficial effect. A study in Japan published in the "Annals of Nutrition and Metabolism" in 2008 showed that black tea helped with weight loss, and also had the additional benefit of lowering cholesterol levels.

When researchers gave mice a high fat diet supplemented with five percent black tea extract it reduced the amount of weight and body fat they gained - and even lowered the amount of fat they stored in their liver.

Why did the black tea extract prevent weight gain in these mice? Researchers believe the polymerized polyphenols - theaflavins and thearubigins - in black tea are responsible for this benefit. Theaflavins and thearubigins aren't found in green tea because it isn't allowed to ferment.

Black tea is SAFE for most adults. Too much black tea, such as more than five cups per day, can cause side effects because of the caffeine. These side effects can range from mild to serious and include headache, nervousness, sleep problems, vomiting, diarrhea, irritability, irregular heartbeat, tremor, heartburn, dizziness, ringing in the ears, convulsions, and confusion.

People who drink black tea or other caffeinated beverages all the time, especially in large amounts, can develop psychological dependence.

Caffeine is PROBABLY SAFE in children in amounts commonly found in foods.

Tea has been celebrated as a healthy alternative to coffee not only because it has lower levels of caffeine, but primarily due to the presence of polyphenols found in the Camellia sinesis plant leaves that tea is made out of. Polyphenols are strong antioxidant chemicals that have the power to contain damaging free radicals and prevent them from attacking cells and promoting cancer growths.

Vitamins and minerals are also present in tea leaves, adding to the list of health benefits of drinking tea. Each blend of flavored black tea contains some dried fruits, spices, or even flower petals. When the tea is steeped, the flavors from the fruits or spices are released and mixed in.

From a different species of the camellia sinensis plant, green tea has also gained in popularity over the past 20 years. Even with less caffeine, green tea can still give you a morning jolt, but the beverage has come under attention for supposed health properties. Studies ranging from reducing risks of heart disease and cancer to weight loss have been done with green tea, but the results of all indicate that the beverage, even in concentrated form, is not a substitute for proper medical attention or a dieting and exercise strategy.

White tea has emerged over the past decade and supersedes green tea in antioxidant content. With the most mellow flavor and lowest caffeine content, white tea often has flavor infusions that give the beverage more body. Blends of this tea, however, vary, with buds and leaves used in different amounts.

Tight Jeans and Your Health



We've all heard how women have to suffer to be beautiful, but now we've just gone numb from something called "tingling thigh syndrome" or in medical terms, meralgia paresthetica.

"Tingling thigh syndrome" is apparently caused when too-tight jeans compress a nerve that cuts off sensation to the thigh.

The latest fashion victims from skinny jeans are facing a real health concern, CBS News medical correspondent Dr. Jennifer Ashton said on "The Early Show" Thursday.

In 1986, a scientific study suggested wearing tight pants or underwear could lower a man's sperm count. It was around the time tight jeans were going out of fashion. And when the media got hold of the story, baggy trousers were in.

God intended your scrotum to hang in the breeze and be a couple of degrees cooler than the rest of your body, because sperm don't like heat. People implied from that that if you heated up the scrotum by wearing tight-fitting underwear or tight jeans then perhaps you would interfere with sperm production. So there was a real fad through the '70s and '80s by wearing tight clothing and then people realised that maybe that's not good for fertility," he says.

The testes are a very delicate piece of machinery. Sperm starts off as a germ cell in the seminiferous tubes, it takes six to eight weeks to move through to the epididymis, to mature and be stored, ready for the big event.

In Australia, it is estimated that male infertility affects about one in 20 men, and is the underlying reason for 40 percent of infertile couples using assisted reproduction.

So, for piece of mind and general health, it is always good to get your facts straight first and not let other people tell you rubbish. It is also a good idea not to wear tight clothing all the time so that your bits can breath. And it is also a good idea to keep up with the fashion and keep on wearing tight jeans.

Breakfast with a Single Milk Disadvantages



The scientists questioned 5,500 teenagers and their parents on whether they ate breakfast, and discovered that adults and teenagers who skip the meal are less likely to look after their health. It is thought that busy lifestyles are to blame for why some people skip breakfast in the morning, despite the fact that most nutritionists agree that a balanced breakfast is the best start to the day.

The study by Dr Keski-Rahkonen, published in the European Journal of Clinical Nutrition, adds to a growing body of research, which suggests that the obese are less likely to consume breakfast 2,3 and that breakfast consumption has been linked with lower body weights.

In addition, some experts believe that diets rich in calcium, especially from dairy products, may actually help with weight control. It seems that an increased consumption of calcium may influence the way that fat cells work, encouraging trunk fat in particular to be burnt rather than stored.

Certain food type especially raw milk can be harmful even if they are organic and locally produced. Milk and other dairy products that are bought from store are pasteurized and homogenized. In pasteurization the milk is heated to a specific temperature for a particular amount of time to kill harmful bacteria that maybe present.

Whereas in homogenization the milk and its component is forced through a very fine screen at a high pressure, resulting in an uniform liquid that will not separate, this helps in maintaining the creamy texture of the milk and leaves it fresh for a longer time.Raw milk, on the other hand, comes straight from the cows who are fed fresh organic green grass and ready for consumption.

Today's milk may look the same, even taste the same, but it is quite a different product. Milk in the US contains myriad drugs, some approved and others not. Milk contains pesticides from treated grains, bacteria and pus from infected animals, in some instances - salmonella, and genetically engineered growth hormones designed to increase milk production, thereby shortening the life of a dairy cow from an average of 15 years to three or four. Plastic containers, and plastic wrap may leach dangerous chemicals into milk and dairy products. There is even a variable level of radiation in dairy products.
