i would like to make post about celebrity and their disease... Yes, like the Seurieus (indonesian band) song's, Celebrity also a human being..




i'm gonna post about hollywood celeb, maybe later about indonesian celeb..





1. Muhammad Ali




Who doesn't know him?


Yes.. he is one of the greatest boxer of all time..


but his great physic changed in 1984, he diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease..


It is a neurological syndrome characterized by tremors, rigidity of muscles and slowness of speech and movement, following which his motor functions began a slow decline..


Parkinson's disease is not a fatal disease, but it progresses with time..


In the late stages of the disease, it may cause complications such as choking, pneumonia, and falls that can lead to death..



2. Christopher Reeve



He is the true Man of Steel..


Christopher plays Superman in all four first Superman Movie..


In 1995 Reeve became paralyzed from the neck-down, after his horse had a refusal and he fell off..


His first and second vertebrae was shattered , which meant that his head and spine were not connected..
After considering his situation, believing that not only would he never walk again, but that he might never move a body part again, Reeve once considered suicide.. But his wife trully supported him..



on October 10, 2004, Reeve died of heart failure at the age of 52..



3. Patrick Swayze



Have you watch "Ghost"? It is a popular romantic movie back in the 90's..


He is the main male star..


Swayze was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in late January 2008 and has been undergoing chemotherapy and other treatments ..


Some reports have stated he only has five weeks left to live but this has been denied by his doctor..


Pancreatic cancer is a malignant tumor..


Depending on the extent of the tumor at the time of diagnosis, the prognosis is generally regarded as poor, with few victims still alive five years after diagnosis, and complete remission still extremely rare..



4. Ozzy Osbourne



Ozzy is the ex-vocalist of Black Sabbath..


He well known with his dark-stage-style..


Osbourne experienced tremors for some years and linked them to his continuous drug abuse..


In May 2005 he found out it was actually Parkin Syndrome, a genetic condition, the symptoms of which are very similar to Parkinson's disease..


Osbourne will have to take daily medication for the rest of his life to combat the involuntary shudders associated with the condition..



5. Steven Tyler



Steven is the vocalist of Aerosmith..


Tyler is known for his raw, sharp-edged vocals, and is musically versatile, playing a wide range of instruments, including the harmonica, keyboards, and several percussion instruments..


In September 2006, he announced that he had been diagnosed with Hepatitis C three years previous and had just completed eleven months of treatment with interferon..


The hepatitis C virus is one of six known hepatitis viruses..


It is a well-connected disease with HIV..


No vaccine protects against contracting hepatitis C, or helps to treat it..


Vaccines are under development and some have shown encouraging results..
