Your Heart

There are two important organs of the body, brain and heart. Between heart and brain, the most important is heart. One can life only with heart eventhough he or she will live an unlife life. Heart divided into two, atrial and ventricle. Atrial is located in upper part of heart and ventricle is located in lower part of heart.

There are two valve in the heart, tricuspid valve and mitral valve. Tricuspid valve located between the right atrial and right ventricle. Mitral valve is located between the left atrial and left ventricle.

The valve function is to open and closed when the blood runs through them. There are situation when the valve can not closed properly, we called it mitral insufficiency for mitral and tricuspid insufficiency. The other situation is when the valve can not open properly, we called it mitral stenosis for mitral and tricuspid stenosis for tricuspid.

Usually when these situations happen, the surgeon must do a surgery to help the person. Mitral valve surgery is the example if these situation is happens in the mitral valve. The surgeon must do mitral valve repair in order make the heart beats normally again. If the surgeon can not do the repair then mitral valve replacement is the answer. Is is done by replace the valve with several varieties of artificial valves including mechanical (metal) valves and tissue valves
