Quick Weight Loss with Milk
Milk is essential for human body. Since we were a child, our mother always gave milk as our drink. That is a good thing. Milk is needed by our body badly. Do you know that milk can help you losing your weight?
Adults who ate or drank the highest amount of dairy per day -- about 12 ounces of milk or 580 milligrams of dairy calcium -- at six months lost about 12 pounds at the end of the two-year study. People who got the least amount of calcium from dairy foods -- about 150 milligrams of dairy calcium, or half of a glass of milk per day -- lost 7 pounds after two years. Higher levels of vitamin D in the blood were also linked with successful weight loss, the study showed.
More than 300 overweight men and women aged 40 to 65 followed a low-fat diet, a low-carb diet, or a Mediterranean-style diet. All foods were readily available in the cafeteria at their workplace.
In particular, milk is a good source of protein, zinc and some B vitamins. But it’s also one of the main providers of calcium, a mineral that not only helps to keep bones strong, but according to recent research, may also help us lose weight.
Sadly, many slimmers avoid milk and dairy products because they think they’re ‘fattening’. In fact, a pint of skimmed milk contains just 190 calories and 0.6g fat, while a pint of semi-skimmed milk contains 260 calories and 9g fat – that’s less than most small chocolate bars!
