How to Stay Healthy While Travelling

One of the challenges we face in trying to maintain a healthy lifestyle, is what to do when traveling. How do we eat healthy when we’re limited to airport food and business dinners? How do we keep up our exercise routine when we’re on a plane most of the day or in meetings?

Get any recommended vaccines or preventative medication before traveling abroad. Contact your physician, or visit a travel health website, to learn if there are any recommendations for your travel destination. Common vaccines that keep travelers healthy include hepatitis and tetanus. Find out if you should take anti-malaria pills on your trip, it's advisable for travel to certain countries abroad.

Nutritionist Kelly Aronica stresses the importance of “eating healthy before you leave as an easy way to feel great at the start of your trip. You won’t want to ruin that by overeating abroad.” She suggests five to seven servings of fruit and vegetables per day, as well as healthy fats like olive oil, nuts, seeds, avocados, and fatty fish, will set you straight before an adventure of any size.

Heading home, you should try to get yourself back on track as soon as possible, according to Aronica. Staying hydrated and settling back into your healthy eating habits are paramount. Eating three healthy meals per day can help you readjust to your time zone as will getting back into your regular workout routine.

Keep Doing Weight Loss Diet While Traveling

Traveling is the best time for you to cheat during your weight loss diet. You maybe will have many excuses. Nonetheless if your motivation for weight loss diet is high, you would prevent yourself from eating bad meal during your travel.

You may not be jet-setting with the president, but every man is busy, every man is stressed, and as a result, every man crashes into the same diet roadblocks. Simply put, traveling doesn't make you fat. Crappy food and crappier habits do. So here's your chance. Follow these weight-loss rules of the road next time out and you'll immediately be bumped up to a better class: a leaner, healthier life.

Here's what to do: Using the guidelines in "How to Eat on the Road", choose from the lower-carb group as often as you can -- most of the time, in fact. But when those foods aren't available, go ahead and enjoy selections from the higher-carb group. To keep yourself honest, use this rule of thumb: Each time you choose a higher-carb food, try to have at least three lower-carb meals or snacks before dipping into that well again. What about alcohol? You can down up to two glasses of wine (10 ounces) or light beer (24 ounces) a night.

There are people who do lots of travel but still maintain their diet. How come?

"They found ways to add calorie-burning activities to their busy days, such as using the hotel gym at night, walking to meetings instead of taking a cab with the group, and buying one-day guest memberships to nearby gyms.

The main reason these savvy travelers succeeded? Commitment: "I am not on a diet, I have completely changed the way I eat and am enjoying what I eat and how I feel for the first time in my life."

Safe Abroad Travelling

This tips I get from a US website for US citizens. But I think it is also useful for you guys who read it. I edit it a little bit.

1. Sign passport, and fill in the emergency information

--> Make sure you have a signed, valid passport, and a visa, if required, and fill in the emergency information page of your passport.

2. Leave copies of itinerary and passport data page

--> Leave copies of your itinerary, passport data page and visas with family or friends, so you can be contacted in case of an emergency.

3. Check your overseas medical insurance coverage

--> Ask your medical insurance company if your policy applies overseas, and if it covers emergency expenses such as medical evacuation. If it does not, consider supplemental insurance.

4. Familiarize yourself with local conditions and laws

--> I think it is so important, remember you are not in your own country.

5. Take precautions to avoid being a target of crime

--> Just act and dress regularly. Don't be a spot in a crowdness.

6. Contact your country embassy in that country in an emergency

--> Before you go, make sure that your country has a relationship with the nation you will visit. You don't want to go to uncertain places, bealieve me.

salah satu keuntungannya ya, kalau ke sana jd g perlu repot mikir oleh2, barang bawaan yang overloaded di bandara, dan bisa lebih konsentrasi menjalankan ibadah..
