Lee Dewyze or Crystal Bowersox?

The final singing show of season 9 has finished. Both contestants have done the best. I thought the finale will be Crystal's night. Crystal is having better performances (of three songs) than Lee tonight.

In my opinion, Crystal will be the season 9 winner, but Lee will have a better carrier because he's a runner-up. It's no secret that the winner of the show must do what the label and producers wanted. What do you think?

Lee Dewyze on American Idol Season 9

I'm starting to think that he can win the show. Maybe the judges lost interest with Crystal's attitudes. This guy can be big. Maybe, just maybe.

Stratocaster or Telecaster?

Which one is the best? What do you think? More people use the Strat than the Tele. Maybe because it is more popular. What about the sound?

When you play them both with a clean sound yes, there is a very big difference between a Strat and a Tele. The more you raise the gain though, the less apparent that difference becomes.

What distinguishes a Tele-sound is the twang that you get from the bridge pickup mounted directly in that huge metal bridge plate. And what distinguishes a Strat sound is that quack you get from the middle pickup combined in parallel with either of the other two pickups. Neither stock guitar can quite re-create the aforementioned conditions of the other. Tele's just-neck sound better than Strat's just-neck sound. The Tele's is more boxey and jazzy sounding.

Tele is more versatile. I mean, the Strat is good for rock, metal, blues, jazz and a bit of country but, to get all that plus a much better country sound, you'll want a Tele!

So, in conclusion, I feel that if you want to rock, buy a Strat, but if you want to add some blues in you rock, buy a Tele!

Where is the Rock?

It is been a while since the last rock-based singing competition. There were RockStar INXS and RockStar Supernova, which goal was the same, found a lead singer. The pop competitions like American Idol, Britain/America Got Talent, etc, are still on.

But where is the rock? I am eager to see any rock band finding its vocalist through a TV broadcast-competition.

I laughed when I heard that. Actually, I couldn't watch the live show because of my unimportant night shift duty. Then I heard it on the news.

Seriously, does Miley Cyrus can even sing?? Why did the producer pick her as the mentor??

Daftar Kekayaan Capres 2009

Asik, fakta ini telah dirilis. Jadi bisa buat bahan pertimbangan ni siapa capres yang punya duit paling banyak dan paling sedikit.


Calon Presiden dan Calon Wakil Presiden peserta Pilpres 2009 telah menyerahkan Daftar Laporan Harta Kekayaan Penyelenggara Negara (LHKPN) kepada Komisi Pemberantasan Korupsi (KPK). Namun KPK baru akan mengumumkan secara resmi kepada publik pada 25 Mei 2009. Berapa kekayaan mereka?

Berikut data kekayaan capres yang bersumber dari data LHKPN di KPK berdasarkan laporan sebelumnya.

1. Harta Kekayaan Calon Presiden Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono :

Harta tidak bergerak terdiri dari enam bidang tanah dan bangunan senilai Rp 2.98 miliar.

Harta Bergerak: Alat transportasi dan mesin lain sebesar Rp 509,5 juta, harta bergerak lain senilai Rp 151,6 juta.

Giro dan setara kas lain Rp 3,49 miliar (ditambah US$44.887) yang berasal dari hasil sendiri.

Total kekayaan SBY sebesar Rp 7,14 milyar dan US$44.887

2. Harta Kekayaan Calon Presiden Jusuf Kalla:

Harta tidak bergerak, terdiri dari tanah dan bangunan sebanyak 50 bidang di Makassar dan Kendari sebesar Rp 80,3 miliar.

Harta bergerak yang terdiri dari tiga mobil senilai Rp 300 juta.



3. Harta Kekayaan Calon Presiden Megawati Soekarnoputri:

Harta tidak bergerak berupa tanah dan bangunan sebesar Rp 36,51 miliar.

Harta bergerak berupa alat transportasi senilai Rp 2.20 miliar terdiri dari 29 mobil dan motor.

Harta bergerak lain senilai Rp 32,77 miliar, terdiri dari logam mulia, batu mulia dan barang antik.

Surat berharga senilai Rp 22,55 miliar.

Total harta kekayaan Megawati sebesar Rp 86,26 miliar

Sedangkan kekayaan Megawati sampai 30 Mei 2005 sebesar Rp 105,8 miliar. Jumlah itu terdiri dari Rp 71,5 miliar berupa harta tak bergerak dan bergerak, Rp 22,5 miliar surat berharga, dan Rp 11,8 miliar giro serta rakas.



4. Harta Kekayaan Calon Wakil Presiden Prabowo Subianto:

Uang tunai Rp 28 miliar.

Asset bergerak dan tak bergerak lain senilai Rp 1,42 triliun. Asset bergerak dan tak bergerak yang dimiliki Prabowo, antara lain 27 perusahaan di bidang perkebunan, pertambangan, dan peternakan, serta 90 ekor kuda.

Total kekayaan Prabowo Rp 1,7 triliun.




5. Harta Kekayaan Calon Wakil Presiden Wiranto:

Sampai tahun 2007 yang dilaporkan ke KPK, jumlah kekayaannya adalah Rp 46,5 miliar.



6. Harta Kekayaan Calon Wakil Presiden Boediono:

Harta tidak bergerak sebesar Rp 5,8 miliar.

Surat berharga dan lain-lain senilai Rp 12,86 miliar.

Total harta Boediono senilai Rp 18,66 miliar.

This American group had a concert in Jakarta a few days before. People said that the concert was a success. Although Indonesia is the largest moslem country, it seems that Pussycat Dolls or other foreign band which have a concert in there, doesn't get much trouble when they wore sexy clothes. Different from Malaysia, they were almost banned every sexy performers.

When I ask about the price tickets, the cheapest was aroud $50 or 500.000 IDR. With this price and a sold out, you can make sure the concert was safe. It is different when you make a Metallica concert and the cheapest price was $2.

There's gonna be riots for sure!

Obama Bela Israel

Ya, pidato yang ditunggu2 akhirnya keluar juga. Publik Amerika dan dunia menantikan pidato resmi Obama mengenai konflik Timur Tengah. Hasil pidatonya bisa dibilang menghancurkan harapan banyak orang tentang terciptanya perdamaian di Timur Tengah.

Obama mengatakan bahwa Amerika mendukung Israel dan mengecam serangan Hamas ke Israel. Sedangkan untuk korban Palestina sebanyak 1300 orang, Obama hanya mengucapkan simpati saja.

Pidato Obama ini bisa dibilang kurang lebih sama dengan pidato C.Rize beberapa hari lalu yang saya lihat di FOX news yang bernada sama. Amerika tetap mendukung Israel, no matter what.

Kalau begini, saya jadi ingat tentang berita ada seseorang yang berniat membunuh Obama dan telah ditangkap. Alasannya ialah ia tak rela Amerika jadi budak Israel.

Saya salut dengan para politikus di Indonesia. Walaupun sudah jelas2 dan terang2an diketahui bahwa memimpin negara 1 ini amat sangat susah, tapi begitu banyak orang yang berani mencalonkan diri menjadi pemimpin di negara ini..

Apa sih motivasinya? Mungkin beragam, tapi yang pasti motivasi memimpin, berkuasa, dan uang, adalah bagian darinya..

Calon pemimpin baru di 2009 begitu beragam, mulai dari muka lama, muka baru, muka ga tau malu, semua campur aduk..

Kita lihat siapa aja calonnya..

1. Ibu2 overweight yang kalo lagi ga memimpin negara ini hobi berkoar, kalo lagi mimpin malah diem

2. Bapak2 yang pemilu sebelumnya kalah tapi maju terus pantang mundur berani mencalonkan diri lagi

3. Opa2 yang marah kalo dibilang cacat fisik padahal jelas2an emang iya, di kampung2 banyak pendukungnya, dan rada sableng, mungkin dikarenakan fungsi otaknya sudah menurun >50%. (FYI, ada yang bilang 1x stroke kemampuan otak berkurang 1/3%, beliau sudah 2x, jadi?) --> bener ga ya?

4. Om2 yang lebih ngetop di acara gossip

5. Om2 berbadan besar yang kurang menggigit tapi punya kepemimpinan yang lumayanlaaahhh...

6. Om2 yang punya sampingan jadi aktor

dan masih banyak lagi calonnya, terutama calon2 yang entah asal muasalnya dari mana tp tiba2 muncul ke dunia perpolitikan tanah air..



jadi... mau milih yang mana ya??

Vokalis Baru?!

Dalam dunia musik, pergantian anggota band merupakan hal yang lumrah. Hal ini berlaku di luar negeri dan dalam negeri. Dari semua anggota band, menurut saya pergantian vokalis lah yang paling sakral. Karena walaupun dia bukan pentolan band tersebut, tetap saja suara dia lah yang biasa kita dengar..

Pergantian vokalis bisa saja sukses atau gagal. Di luar negeri bisa kita liat contohnya : Sammy Hagar bisa dibilang hanya sedikit sukses ketika menggantikan David Lee Roth dari Van Halen. Penerusnya, Gary Cheyrone lebih parah, dan dia pun kembali ke Extreme.

Dari dalam negeri, hanya segelintir yang bisa dibilang sukses, yaitu Once yang menurut saya berhasil menyingkirkan stigma Ari Lasso = Dewa 19. Firman ex Idol juga bisa dibilang berhasil "menaruh" suaranya ke dalam lagu2 The Fly..


Nah, yang paling gres, adalah Jamrud.. Band yang sudah didemo sana sini karena lirik lagunya ini harus kehilangan Krisyanto sebagai vokalis. Padahal masyarakat sudah beranggapan Jamrud = Krisyanto.. Jadi ketika diberitakan Jamrud mencari vokalis, saya pun pesimis ia bisa melampaui pendahulunya..

Dan td ketika saya melihat video klip terbaru mereka, tampaknya anggapan itu benar..

Chinese Democracy Review (English)

After reading so many reviews from the critics and fans, I think this time is my turn to make one about the latest Guns n' Roses' album..

My opinion after first hearing the album are :

1. I really miss the guitar sound from Slash.. Remember the blues-rock guitar sound which filled in every Guns n' Roses songs?

2. There is a little bit of changes in Guns n' Roses' songs.. Axl make the music is more "nowadays music".. But the changes are positive thing I think..

After a few times hearing this album, I think that " Woaaa.. It is a really great album!" Maybe Appetitte of Destruction is better, but Use Your Illussion I n' II is less..

The songs are very strong than the songs in Use Your Illussion I n' II..

Axl's voice definitely is greater than the old songs..

The album consists of 14 songs which is great to hear and suitable for mme and my work-out..

My favourites are Chinese Democracy, Shackler's Revenge, Better, and Street of Dreams.. I think Madagascar is a good song.. I wonder why there are some bad reviews about this song.. The only song I'm not quite into is Scraped..

Hopefully the next album doesn't need many years to come out..

Chinese Democracy Review

Setelah membaca banyak review2 dari para kritikus dan para fans, akhirnya tibalah giliran saya membuat review tentang album Guns n' Roses teranyar ini..

Kesan saya pertama kali mendengarkan ialah :

1. Saya kangen dengan sayatan gitar dari Slash.. Tahu kan sayatan blues-rock nya Slash yang biasa menghiasi lagu2 Guns n' Roses?

2. Musik Guns n' Roses agak sedikit berubah.. Axl tidak lagi mengusung 80s rock, tapi lebih ke fresh rock masa kini..


Setelah beberapa kali mendengarkan.. Saya berpikir, ternyata album ini bagus banget lho.. Mungkin masih kalah sama Appetitte of Destruction, tapi rasanya agak lebih dibanding Use Your Illussion I n' II..

Lagu2nya terdengar lebih mempunyai karakter yang kuat dibanding lagu2 di Use Your Illussion I n' II..

Yang pasti.. Suara Axl jauh terdengar lebih mantap dibanding lagu2 sebelumnya..

Album yang terdiri dari 14 lagu ini rata2 enak didengar dan cocok untuk menemani saya melakukan weight lifting..

Favorit saya adalah Chinese Democracy, Shackler's Revenge, Better, dan Street of Dreams.. Madagascar yang menurut orang2 jelek, malah bagus menurut saya.. Satu2 nya lagu yang kurang saya suka adalah Scraped..

Yah, semoga album berikutnya tidak memerlukan belasan tahun lagi untuk keluar..

Finally, the long waited album has come! The long anticipated album has made a lot of response. Well most of them are dissatisfied with the album. Here it goes.



Track 3: IRS
This is a really good song. Like this could sneak into a GnR Greatest Hits album and no one would notice. It starts with a sweet little wail about how a woman has changed to be no good. Then, to resolve this matter, he says he's "gonna call the President/ gonna call a private eye/ gonna get the IRS/ gonna need the FBI," which I can't get out of my head. It interrupts its super-rockingness with little bits of mellowness to keep me interested, and then some weird named guitarist rocks out and Axl's right back to calling the President. I play this all the time. I would love it a lot more if some band that wasn't heavy metal played it. Grade: A+

Overall grade: B+

But too often quantity gets in the way of quality: No rock cliché from the last decade goes unrepresented (hip-hop loops, nü-metal skronk), and did ''Madagascar'' really need a horn section and Martin Luther King Jr. samples?

In 1998 the currency for Rupiah to USD is 15.000 rupiahs/USD, now it is between 9.000-10.000 rupiahs/USD. In 1998 the Chinese investor took their invested money and invested in other country, now that situation isn't happen..
